Voters show support for local Democrats, initiatives

The first results of the 2016 November general election were released by county and state election offices at 8:15 p.m. Nov. 8. The Reporter will update this post on Wednesday as more results are released. The general election results will be certified Nov. 29. Election results are taken from the Washington Secretary of State, King County and Snohomish County websites.

Suzan DelBene (D): 57.5 percent (119,097 votes)

Robert Sutherland (R): 42.5 percent (88,186 votes)

1st Legislative District State Senator

Guy Palumbo (D): 59.5 percent (24,192 votes)

Mindie Wirth (R): 40.4 percent (16,428 votes)

Derek Stanford (D): 63.5 percent (25,600 votes)

Neil Thannisch (R): 36.4 percent (14,701 votes)

Shelley Kloba (D): 57.9 percent (23,313 votes)

Jim Langston (R): 42 percent (16,920 votes)

46th Legislative District State Representative Position No. 1

Gerry Pollet (D): 87 percent (40,409 votes)

Stephanie Heart Viskovich (L): 12.8 percent (5,936 votes)
