Woman threatens roommate with meat cleaver | Bothell crime blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical roundup of calls to the Bothell Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. Between Jan. 2-9 there were 11 traffic collisions, five vehicle prowls, two vehicle thefts, three thefts, two incidents involving illegal drugs, three incidents of domestic violence, one robbery, one hit-and-run and 11 warrants served.

Jan. 3

Malicious mischief: 1:15 a.m., 12700 block of NE 196th St.; A 23-year-old man called police to report two broken windows in his car. The man suspected it was his mother’s boyfriend, but there wasn’t any evidence to support his suspicion.

Assault: 4:20 p.m., 900 block of 228th St. SE; A 68-year-old Mill Creek man was arrested after punching his 23-year-old girlfriend at the Extended Stay America in Bothell. The victim is a Chinese national, and according to the police report, has no money and no other means to buy a return ticket to China.

DUI: 5:45 p.m., 20800 block of Maltby Road; Police stopped a 70-year-old man for tailgating and nearly causing multiple collisions on SR 527, all while laying on the horn of his Ford F-150. The man failed field tests and provided a breath reading of .099. He was arrested for DUI.

Jan. 6

Suspicious circumstances: 12:56 p.m., 18300 block of 120th Ave. NE; An employee at Home Depot witnessed a man steal a cart full of tools, worth around $1,000. The man’s pickup, caught on surveillance video, is registered in Alaska and was never found during an area search by Bothell Police.

Drugs: 10:26 p.m., 21000 block of Bothell-Everett Highway; Fred Meyer Loss Prevention contacted police about a subject inside the store known to steal. An officer contacted the 26-year-old Lynnwood man, who was found to have a misdemeanor warrant for criminal solicitation. The man was arrested, and upon a search, was carrying a needle and heroin on his person.

Jan. 8

Assault: 7:06 a.m., 9200 block of NE 193rd St.; A 51-year-old woman was arrested for 2nd-degree domestic violence assault after threatening her roommate, a 60-year-old man, with a cleaver-style knife.

Drugs: 7:16 p.m., 18300 block of 120th Ave. NE; Police contacted a suspicious vehicle in the Home Depot parking lot. The driver, a 28-year-old Woodinville man, had a warrant from Marysville for 3rd-degree theft, and was arrested on his warrant. The man also had needles and other heroin paraphernalia, and was also arrested on drug offenses.

Jan. 9

Robbery: 12:13 p.m., 18400 block of 120th Ave. NE; A 19-year-old man reported he was robbed of his wallet on Dec. 27 while waiting at a bus stop. The suspect was armed with a knife, and is described as a 25-year-old black male, 5-foot-10 and 141 pounds wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and black Nike tennis shoes. The man only lost about $40 in the robbery, but needed a police case number to obtain new Mexican identification from the US Consulate.
