‘No Kings’ rallies scheduled across King County on June 14

The nationwide effort is intended to protest recent actions and policies by the Trump administration.

Rallies have been scheduled across King County and the nation June 14 in response to the federal government’s policies and as well as its recent handling of protests in Los Angeles.

An organization called No Kings is mobilizing the demonstrations to coincide with President Donald Trump’s scheduled military parade in Washington, D.C. Its website at nokings.org allows users to search for a demonstration near their zip code.

Rallies in King County on June 14 include:

• Federal Way: Noon to 2 p.m. at South 320th Street and Pacific Highway South.

• Auburn: Noon to 1:30 p.m. at Auburn Way North and 15th Street NE.

• Enumclaw: Noon to 2 p.m. at Griffin Avenue and Porter Street.

• Maple Valley: Noon to 2 p.m. at 26710 Maple Valley Black Diamond Road SE.

• Covington: Noon to 2 p.m. (RSVP on website for location of private event).

• Des Moines: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Big Catch Plaza.

• Renton: Noon to 1 p.m. at North 10th Street and Logan Avenue North.

• Issaquah: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Front Street North and Northeast Gilman Boulevard.

• North Bend: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at North Bend Way and Park Street.

The website describes No Kings Day as “a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.”
