In order to stay out of the upcoming heat this weekend, King County and several jurisdictions have opened and/or identified places that are open and welcoming people to come cool down.
Highs for Sea-Tac Airport are predicted to hit 87 degrees on Friday, June 25, 97 on Saturday, 101 on Sunday and 104 on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Tuesday’s high is predicted to drop to 91 and Wednesday to 87. Low temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are predicted to be in the low 70s.
Local malls (The Outlet Collection in Auburn, Westfield Southcenter Mall in Tukwila, Northgate Station in Seattle), libraries and movie theaters are all good places to cool off, according to a King County Emergency News website post.
King County Library System will have the following libraries open on Friday, June 25 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and Saturday, June 26 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) All people must wear masks, whether vaccinated or not, and per Gov. Jay Inslee’s orders, are open at 50% capacity:
