Alice Story Selmer

Alice Story Selmer Passed away June 10, 2008. She always had an open door welcoming visitors with tea & homemade treats. She was her happiest when she was helping & giving to others.Alice was born to Anna Martin Story & Fred Story in Petersburg, Alaska on January 30, 1913. The Story family was originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Alice cherished her years in Skagway, Alaska with her brothers Dean & Fred. Her first husband was Louis Selmer Sr., who proceeded her in death in 1959. They treasured their family time with their only son Louis Selmer Jr.Her grand children Dean Selmer, Michelle Hogg & Lisa Steilen affectionately nicknamed her “Goose”. She had 40 memorable years on Bainbridge Island, WA with family & her second husband Robert Selmer (who proceeded her in death in 2003). Alice lived in Kirkland-Bothell for 16 years, and lived independently until she was 94. Alice treated her daughters-in-laws and “grand” sons/daughters-in-laws as her own children. Alice also was very close to her 6 great grandchildren. She had many close friends in her life that she thought of as family. No service per Alice’s request. Please bring your whole family for a picnic at Juanita Beach on “Grandparents Day” 9/7/8 at 11:00 to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Diabetes Association.
