Dolores “Dee” Arlene Craig

Dolores “Dee” Arlene Craig, 74, formerly of Bothell, passed away June 18, 2010 in Ellensburg, Washington. Dee was born April 18, 1936 in Ellensburg, Washington to Paul and Opal (Stone) Hughes. In 1940, her family moved to the Rainier Valley area of Seattle. Six years later she and her family moved to Bothell. She graduated from Bothell High School in 1954 and married John “Joe” Craig in February of 1955. Joe and Dee were married for 22 years. Dee lived and worked in the Seattle and Bothell area most her life. She worked in the insurance industry for approximately 38 years. In 1977, Dee met John “Jack” Parker and they were together as a couple until he passed away in March of 1998. Dee loved being with family and friends as well as bowling, traveling, playing bingo, sewing, and knitting. In July of 2009, Dee moved into her daughter, Jodee’s home, where she lived until passing away. Dee is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Opal Hughes, and a sister, Barbara Lee Pappenfus in 1981.She is survived by her three children, Kathryn Bodette of Puyallup, WA, Jodee (Mel) Shenyer of Ellensburg, WA, and John (Kathy) Craig of Edmonds, WA; two sisters, Beverly Jeanne Fishback and Mary Annette Schetne both of San Marcos, CA; six grandchildren, Elizabeth and Amelia Shenyer, Virginia and Sierra Craig, and Michael and Patrick Bodette; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. A Memorial Service will be held in Ellensburg, WA at the Kittitas Valley Event Center – Manastash Room on July 7th at 1 pm.
