Duane M. Ranstrom

Duane M. Ranstrom

8-3-63 to 4-27-09

Duane lived life to the fullest. Duane was born with a defective heart; it never stopped him from doing anything he set his mind to. He was best friend and husband of 25 years to his wife Beckey, devoted father to our five children; Karisa, Amber, Tayler, Brionna and Dakoda. Grandfather to Kaylyn and soon to arrive a baby girl to Karisa. Duane is also survived by his sister Debbie Wise (Dean, Dena, Chris, Michael and Amie Wise), brother David Ranstrom and mother Barb Ranstrom and too many aunts, uncles, cousins and relatives to mention.Duane worked at EC Wilson Co in Lynnwood, WA for 23 years. He helped create and sang lead for the Circuit Riders Quartet until his untimely death. He logged many miles and made many friends through the Circuit Riders. He was known as a joker, friend, coach and the man with the golden voice. Duane coached youth football and helped run Inglemoor Junior Football for many years. He was an outstanding and successful coach winning many championships. He believed in teaching more to the kids than winning and losing with dignity. He taught them life lessons, how to be the best they could be and how to win as a team and lose as a team. He also coached football at Rose Hill Junior High for a couple of years and won the championship with the varsity team. Duane was able to live long enough to realize his dream of becoming a high school coach at Inglemoor High School. Never was a coach more determined to make a difference in the lives of young men. Duane lived his life as an example. His belief was to praise loudly and criticize quietly. Simply yelling at a player was not his idea of coaching. Coaching to Duane was teaching, yelling at a player for making a mistake does not teach them what they did wrong. He made a positive influence in many lives. To know him was to love him. Duane will be greatly missed.Memorial Service will be May 16th at Evergreen Community Church – 2pm – 3429 240th St SE Bothell, WA 98012
