Erma Frances Schiffner

Erma Frances Schiffner, 95, passed into heaven on August 16, 2016.

Erma was born in Colfax, WA on May 12, 1921 to Lee and Inez Hunt. Growing up, she lived in Colfax, Tri-Cities, and Walla Walla. She graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1939 and soon married, resettling in Seattle. Erma raised her family in Lake City and Kenmore, and eventually retired to Camano Island.

Erma enjoyed gardening, painting, sewing, and was an avid reader. She loved art and often was seen with a paintbrush in her hand. Erma enjoyed the outdoors and animals, especially her pet dogs.

She is preceded in heaven by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Orville Schiffner; her son, Craig Ryan Schiffner; her sister, Camille Helseth; and her brother, Roy Hunt.

Erma is survived by her son, Wayne Clinton Schiffner and wife Judy; her sister Wilma Tilly; sister-in-law, Patricia Schiffner Wade; grandchildren, Carli Schiffner (Hahn), Tyson Schiffner, and Saul Schiffner; and great-grandchildren, Gracie and Olive Hahn, and Ayden Schiffner.

She will be laid to rest at Floral Hills in Lynnwood, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Whatcom County Hospice.
