Fred Leroy Burns

Fred passed away May 16, 2015 at age 96 at a care center due to heart failure. Born in Harrisburg, Illinois.

Preceded in death by youngest son, Gary, 1977 and his wife, Charlotte, 1993.

Served in combat in WWII in Normandy, North Africa, Italy and Germany. Worked in the salt mines reacquiring German stolen war treasures. Received 1 purple heart, 2 bronze stars and other numerous awards. Returned to Seattle and worked for Gallagher Motors. Moved to Spokane – owned a Texaco station. Returned to Seattle in 1952 and began working for Boeing until retirement at age 62. Fred enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, gardening, & going out to lunch with Bev. In the fall of 2008 moved to Foundation House in Bothell.

Survived by his brother, Hank Burns, his oldest son, Mark Burns and his daughter-in-law, Beverly Burns. Fred requested no funeral. Donate to your favorite charity in honor of him.
