GEORGE VAUGHN BOSLEY

George Vaughn Bosley died on January 15, 2017 in Peoria, AZ. The “Bothell Beast” was born in Seattle on March 31, 1922 to Vaughn Oliver and Fanny Donnergaard Bosley.

He grew up in Bothell and graduated from Bothell High School in 1940. George was a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Navy as an Aviation Machinist Mate Second Class and an air crewman and gunner on PBY aircraft. He married Mary Louise Anderson at the Methodist Church in Bothell on June 22, 1945. The newlywed couple moved to Corpus Christi, TX while George completed his active service. After the war, they moved back to Bothell, he attended the University of Washington and raised a family. George was an insurance executive and served as VP of Human Resources for CNA until his retirement at the age of 55 in 1978. He loved the sport of golf and was able to play often during his retirement years.

George is survived by his brother Jerome (Barbara), daughter Judith, and son Dennis (Jacqueline). He will be remembered as “Papa Choo Choo” and “Poppy” to his six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
