Changes coming, but paper will remain a strong news source in print and online/ Editorial

Some major changes are under way at the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter, but we’ll continue reporting on the local news our readers look forward to perusing each issue and sharing with their neighbors and colleagues on the Northshore.
Due to the difficult economy, we have decided to reduce the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter distribution to twice a month.
“Despite the decision to reduce our print frequency, we look forward to expanding our online presence,” said publisher Andrea Southern. “This will ensure our long-term viability.”
When making this decision, our overriding goal was to ensure that the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter would continue to be the leading provider of hyperlocal news in our communities. Although we’ll be smaller staffed, Pop Keeney Field sporting events, city council meetings and events like the Rotary Santa Breakfast and Riverfest — and much more — will still be on our busy agenda. Providing in-depth stories on local issues and residents will be part of our plan more than ever.
In print and online, we will continue to provide our communities with the timely and accurate information they need, when they need it. Our Web visits grow each month and we plan on giving you even more to dig into online.
The Bothell-Kenmore Reporter’s roots are with the Bothell Citizen and the Northshore Citizen, and together we’ve been serving the Northshore community for more than 100 years. And the recent steps we have taken were done to ensure that we will continue to serve our communities for another 100 years and beyond.
Beginning on Friday, March 4, the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter will be printed the first and third Friday each month. We will also have two “special” issues on July 29 (Best of Northshore) and Sept. 30 (Business Profiles).
We look forward to working with our communities to carry on the history of excellence they have become accustomed to with the Bothell-Kenmore Reporter.
