My husband and I are new Kenmore residents for all of a few weeks now. When we looked at making an offer on our house, we started researching Kenmore and found out about Proposition 1. This piqued our interest as a place in which we would like to live.

The city’s information about Proposition 1 clearly lays out the process undertaken with the master plan, community involvement and the vision of creating safe sidewalks, trails, water access and restored natural spaces. This is a compelling vision. I hope that all residents will take the opportunity to check out the facts on Kenmore´s website. Additionally, I feel compelled to point out that there is nothing more important than our health, wellness and safety. Research has clearly demonstrated the health benefits of physical activity, including weight management, improved mood, ability to sleep, cardiovascular health and reduced risk of chronic disease. Proposition 1 will serve a major role in helping people get active, including making it safer for children to walk to school. Research has also demonstrated the physical and emotional benefits of being in the outdoors and green spaces. Again, Proposition 1 will play a major role in helping people get outdoors and in natura l spaces.

Aside from all the logical reasons to support Proposition 1, consider an emotional argument: be willing to invest in our community’s health, wellness and safety.
