Vote in favor of Prop. 1 in Kenmore | Letter

The City of Kenmore has its first ever proposition on the ballot this November. Having moved to Kenmore twenty three years ago with my growing family, it is very exciting to finally see the promise of local government come to fruition. I voted for the incorporation of the City of Kenmore with perhaps naïve hope for immediate improvement. My neighbors and family especially hoped for more open space along our very expansive shoreline. After lots of complaining about not much to show for the incorporation, it's finally time to put our money where our mouths are by voting yes for Kenmore's "Prop. 1 - Walkways and Waterways". This proposition authorizes the City of Kenmore to fund new pedestrian sidewalks and bicycle safety improvements, and to construct, and improve waterfront access through the issuance of general obligation bonds. These improvements will improve the quality of life for our citizens and increase property values for a relatively small price tag.
