I am writing in support of Kenmore Proposition 1, Walkways and Waterways.

Safety on our streets is very important to me. In 2014, I served on Kenmore’s pedestrian and bicycle safety committee. We recommended creating sidewalks and bike lanes as one of the top priorities to improve safety in our city.

I also live close to 68th Ave, one of the streets that will receive sidewalks and bike lanes if Walkways and Waterways passes. My family and I often walk and bike together in the area, and improving safety along 68th is very important to us – especially since my two daughters will someday be using that sidewalk to get to Kenmore Junior High.

And it’s not just safety – putting in sidewalks and bike lanes, in addition to the park improvements also in the measure, will make Kenmore a more liveable and pleasant place to be.

Vote yes on Proposition 1 in Kenmore.
