A big third-quarter performance by the Vikings led the team to narrowly defeat Stanwood, 65-64, on Wednesday during the first game of the Inglemoor High School boys basketball season.

A big third-quarter performance by the Vikings led the team to narrowly defeat Stanwood, 65-64, on Wednesday during the first game of the Inglemoor High School boys basketball season.

Stanwood jumped out to a 41-32 lead by halftime at home. But the Vikings caught fire during the third quarter, going on a 21-9 run. Stanwood nearly completed an abbreviated comeback but came up short against the Vikings’ stiff defense.

Inglemoor was led by AJ Peacocke with 17 points and Jackson Gardner with 12 points.

The Vikings will host Skyline at 8 p.m. on Friday.
