The Bothell High School girls basketball team advanced to state with a 45-39 victory against Snohomish on Saturday at Everett Community College.

The Bothell High School girls basketball team advanced to state with a 45-39 victory against Snohomish on Saturday at Everett Community College.

The teams seemed evenly matched during the first quarter with just one point separating the two 4A powers. However, Snohomish took a 25-20 lead into halftime, Bothell seemed to lose some momentum.

The Cougars took over following halftime, holding Snohomish to just seven points during the third and fourth quarters. A 25-point second half effort delivered the victory for the Cougars.

Taya Corosdale led the Cougars with 22 points. Kenyonna Jones brought scoring balance to the Bothell offense with 10 points.

The No. 10 ranked Cougars now move on to play in the state tournament next week in the Tacoma Dome.
