Bothell boys soccer beats Eastlake, 3-1

Bothell’s Gian Herrera scored two goals in the Cougars’ 3-1 win over Eastlake in the 4A KingCo boys soccer playoffs on Tuesday.

Bothell will next play Issaquah at 7 p.m. Friday at Issaquah High. It’s a loser-out, winner-to-state match.

With Eastlake leading 1-0 after a third-minute goal, a Bothell corner kick in the 29th minute hit the far post, was redirected by Jacob Moon to the center of goal and Herrera headed it into the back of the net.

In the 33rd minute, Herrera hit a rocket upper-v shot just outside the 18-yard box to give Bothell a 2-1 lead.

With 15 minutes left in the game, Moon blasted in a goal to give Bothell the 3-1 win.
