Bothell girls basketball team plays for spot at state tournament tonight

The Bothell High School girls basketball team won the 4A KingCo title for the first time since 1997 on Thursday night.

The Bothell High School girls basketball team will face Curtis High School for a spot at the state tournament tonight at 8 p.m. at Bellevue College.

Bothell defeated Eastlake , 61-47, on Feb. 18 to advance to the regional game. With the win against the Wolves, the Cougars captured their first 4A KingCo title in 19 years.

Bothell is 22-1 overall after finishing the regular season 17-1 and at the top of the division.

The team is led by Keyonna Jones and Taya Corosdale, who routinely score in double figures for the Cougars.

The state tournament draw will be announced on Sunday.
