The University of Washington and the University of Wyoming officially snagged a trio of stellar Northshore football players today.
This morning, Bothell High’s Michael Hartvigson and Colin Porter signed their letters of intent with UW and Inglemoor High’s Travis Bogard gave Wyoming the nod.
The Bothell duo earned 4A Kingco Crown Division honors this season: Lineman Porter (6-foot-4, 313 pounds) was co-offensive player of the year and lineman Hartvigson (6-foot-6, 240 pounds) was named defensive player of the year.
They’ve broken big nationally, as well, with Hartvigson grabbing the No. 17 spot among tight ends, according to ESPN.com, and Porter standing at No. 22 and No. 37, respectively, by ESPN.com and Rivals.com.
Last Saturday, Hartvigson and Porter participated in the Team USA vs. The World all-star football game at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The USA won, 17-0.
As for 6-4, 265-pound lineman Bogard, he made both the 4A Kingco Crown offensive and defensive first teams and shared Inglemoor’s most valuable player honors with running back Mark Dickerson.
On his blog, the future business major noted about his mid-December visit to the Wyoming campus: “The school is great and I got to meet with a professor in the Business Department. I also got to meet a bunch of the players and I found them all to be great guys who are really positive about the program!
“The coaches were all complimentary to me and it’s obvious they’re working really hard at building a championship program. They want me to play offensive line.”
