Bothell High School junior named to the Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team

Bothell High School junior Kendra Heyer was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on May 7.

Bothell High School junior Kendra Heyer was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on May 7.

Heyer has a 3.99 GPA as a Speech Pathology major. On the field Heyer has started 12 games primarily in right field hitting .208 during conference play with six total runs scored, two extra base hits, on home run and three RBIs on the season.

Heyer earned the honor in the district that included the states of Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.

“Kendra is the consummate student athlete,” said head coach Ron Shoemaker. “She is carrying a 3.99 GPA after two and a half full years. She is on pace for another 4.0 semester. She takes her studies very seriously, priorities well and should be a role model to everyone.”

Heyer and the rest of the Explorers continue play in the Atlantic 10 Softball Championship this evening as they take on the loser of Saint Louis and Fordham in an elimination game at 5 p.m. from Sortino Field on the campus of University of Massachusetts Amherst.
