The Bothell High School volleyball team lost to Stanwood 3-0 Tuesday but was within at least three points during each game.

The Bothell High School volleyball team lost to Stanwood 3-0 Tuesday but was within at least three points during each game.

The Cougars pushed the first game to an extra points during a 26-24 loss and was just as close during game two, losing 25-23. The home crowd allowed Stanwood to maintain the momentum as they won the third and final game 25-22.

Hailey Crane led the Cougars with 10 kills, while teammate Alexa Torres had nine kills. Cassidy Olcese led the team on defense with 20 digs.

Bothell will get a break to regroup and face Newport at 7 p.m. on Sept. 23.
