Bothell resident shows well during crew competitions

The North Cascades Crew, rowing out of Lake Stevens, overcame the competition in five events at the Northwest Masters Regionals June 20–22.

The North Cascades Crew, rowing out of Lake Stevens, overcame the competition in five events at the Northwest Masters Regionals June 20–22.

Bothell resident Jen Huffman and Wendy Clark of Lake Stevens won the Women’s AA-A Double, age category 21–26, and won a silver in the Double C race.

Huffman won a gold medal in the single C race and a silver in the B division, ages 36–42.

NCC’s competitive rowers also showed well at the Canadian Masters Nationals on July 19-20. Huffman won in both the A and C single races. Clark and Huffman beat the reigning World Masters 2X champions to win the B Double title while also earning silver in the AA-A and C events.

Composed of recreational as well as competitive rowers form 11 years old to senior citizens, North Cascades Crew has contracted with Snohomish County to offer Learn To Row classes for all county residents at Wyatt Park in Lake Stevens.
