Damani St. John-Watkins, a junior, from Bothell High School was nominated by a community member and selected by WIAA staff as one of the Athletes of the Week for achievements in football.

St. John-Watkins averaged 6.1 yards per carry in the Cougars’ 24-14 championship victory over Chiawana at the Tacoma Dome. He racked up 103 yards on the ground and 19 yards receiving.

In recognition of their accomplishment, each Athlete of the Week winner receives a congratulatory letter from WIAA Executive Director, Mike Colbrese, a commemorative WIAA State Athlete of the Week t-shirt, and a certificate. Winners are also posted to the WIAA website at www.wiaa.com.
