The Bothell High School girls basketball team achieved a rare feat on Friday, shutting out Newport during the first quarter of its 52-29 win in Bellevue.

The Cougars scored 18 points during the first quarter and Newport never fully recovered.

Bothell was led by Taya Corosdale with 16 points and Keyonna Jones with 13 points.
