The Bothell High School football team pushed its record to 5-0 on Friday with a big 46-3 victory against Woodinville at Pop Keeney Stadium.

The Cougars jumped out to a big lead during the first half with balanced scoring. But it was not just the offense, as the Bothell defense scored the first points of the game on a safety.

The Cougars pushed the advantage to 9-0, as quarterback Ross Bowers found Dayzell Wilson for a 40-yard touchdown strike through the air.

Bothell kept the pressure on to start the second quarter with a Bowers pass to wide receiver Sean Hanrahan for a 23-yard touchdown.

Following a Falcons’ field goal, the Cougars put the football back into the end zone but this time on the legs of Sam McPherson, who dashed 60 yard for the score.

Bowers would find McPherson through the air for a 20-yard touchdown pass just before halftime to push the advantage to 30-3.

The third quarter would be more of the same for the Cougars, as McPherson capped the team’s first drive of the second half with a five-yard touchdown run.

Damani St. John-Watkins finished the scoring for the contest with a 30-yard touchdown run.

The Cougars will go for win No. 6 against Redmond at 7 p.m. on Oct. 9 at Pop Keeney Stadium.
