Bothell volleyball falls to Lakeside in five-set thriller | Prep roundup

The Cougars' volleyball team traded sets (25-19, 22-25, 25-8, 14-25) with the Lakeside Lions out of the 3A Metro conference, but fell short in the deciding fifth set, 15-7, to lose the match three sets to two.

For Bothell, Lexie Bedell and Katie Arneson led the offense with 11 kills, followed by Emma Salud with nine and Meaghan Rourke with eight. Arneson led with six service aces, Theresa Laufasa had 19 digs on defense and Molly Rigdon recorded 39 assists.

 

Viking soccer routs Nathan Hale

The Inglemoor girls’ soccer team found the back of the net with ease during Saturday’s 6-1 exhibition matchup, defeating Nathan Hale and staying perfect at 3-0-0 on the season.

On the flip side, the Bothell girls’ team couldn’t match up against No. 2-ranked Seattle Prep, getting shut out 6-0. The Cougars dropped to 1-2-0 on the season.

 

Cedar Park girls’ soccer off to flying start

The Eagles kept up their perfect start to the soccer season last Thursday at home, shutting out Life Christian 8-0.

Led by the hat trick of McKenzie Mills (4th, 11th, 21st minutes), the Eagles also got scores from Danica Granard who scored in back-to-back minutes early in the first half, Kaitlyn Bartee (32nd), Arielle Van Peursem (46th) and Michelle Mayer (76th). Jessica Kerlee led the team with two assists.

In two games so far, the Cedar Park girls have scored 13 goals while allowing none.
