The Bothell High football team might only be at the midpoint of the season, but tonight’s conference clash with Skyline is a must-win if the Cougars hope to contend for a conference championship.

Bothell is scheduled to play Skyline at 7 p.m. at Pop Keeney Stadium. The game will be broadcast on Root Sports, and features two teams locked in a battle for supremacy in one of Washington’s toughest leagues.

Skyline (3-0 KingCo, 4-1) has won four in a row after dropping the season opener, 38-27, to Richland. In the weeks following, Skyline has risen to No. 4 in the Associated Press rankings for Class 4A football, ahead of Woodinville at No. 9. The Spartans beat Eastlake 17-14 before blowing out Newport and Mount Si.

Bothell (2-1, 4-1) had played two close games in the last two weeks, losing to Woodinville by a touchdown and beating Eastlake 21-19 in the final minute last week. The Cougars saw the return of running back Jalen Ford, who should pair with senior Alex Indelicato in the backfield, along with quarterback Jacob Sirmon.
