Bothell wins, Inglemoor and Cedar Park lose

Bothell High blew past Issaquah High, 36-14, in Saturday night’s football season opener at Qwest Field in Seattle.

Cougar touchdowns came from Luke Proulx (22-yard run), John Sullivan (15-yard pass from Mitchell Muller), Bobby Gagnon (recovery in end zone), Evan Hudson (3-yard pass from Muller) and Dylan McKey (1-yard run). Reggie Davis converted a 45-yard field goal, as well.

• Inglemoor High hung in there, but Juanita High prevailed, 24-17, in Friday night’s football opener at Pop Keeney Stadium.

The Viks rolled for the tying touchdown with about two minutes left in the fourth quarter, but Juanita snagged an interception in the end zone to seal the victory.

Highlights for Inglemoor were a Jerry Molina 66-yard punt-return TD and a 66-yard TD pass from quarterback Derek Wagner to Peter Meiusi.

Wagner finished 6-of-15 passing for 136 yards and Gunnar Milburn ran 10 times for 55 yards.

• In Cedar Park’s 34-22 loss to Seaquam (B.C.), Eagle quarterback Justin Girgus was 23-for-45 for 373 yards, one passing touchdown and one running touchdown. Riley O’Regan rushed 11 times for 163 yards.
