Tennis players will be swinging away this summer at Bothell Youth Tennis Association summer camps.

Dates are set for July 12-15 (boys and girls grades 9-12), July 19-22 (boys and girls grades 9-12) and July 26-29 (boys and girls grades 6-8) at Bothell High.

Cost is $120 if received at least five days prior to the start of the selected camp or $130 if submitted within five days of the start date.

Camps will start each day at 10 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. All students will receive a camp T-shirt, snacks and game prizes, with trophies being awarded to the winners of the camp-ending tournaments.

The camp’s primary instructor is Michael Pizzo, Bothell High’s varsity tennis coach. He has been coaching at Bothell for more than 25 years and has been named coach of the year on numerous occasions.

Assisting Pizzo is Bob Moore, Bothell assistant tennis coach, who is a certified United State Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) instructor and has many years of tennis experience. Other instructors will be involved, as well, so there is a low student-to-instructor ratio.

The camps will focus on increasing tennis skills, the mental aspects of the game and strategy for both singles and doubles. There are opportunities for small-group instruction, individual instruction and group drills/activities.

Registration forms are available at the association’s site.
