Bothell’s Fodge, Shults notch combined no-hitter

Bothell High’s Katie Fodge and Briley Shults teamed up for a no-hitter in the Cougars’ 11-0 blanking of Mount Si in softball action on April 8.

Fodge sported a heavy bat as well by hammering a homer along with Lizzy Olson; both girls combined for four hits and four RBIs. Kelsey Fortney had two hits and Izzy Brandolini and Nicole Leadley had two RBIs each.

On the Bothell baseball front, the Cougars beat Mount Si, 9-7, behind a homer and three RBIs from Leon Johnson, two RBIs each from Cameron Ley and Austin Cartwright and two hits from Erik Bainter.

In other local softball action, North Creek beat Issaquah, 15-5, and Inglemoor beat Skyline, 10-6.

For North Creek, Sierra Hein nailed two hits — including a homer — and five RBIs, Ashley Saenz had two hits, Ellysa Butterfield had a triple and two RBIs and Victoria Navarro and Elizabeth Peoples each had doubles and two RBIs.

Over at Inglemoor, Emma Flugstad slugged two hits — including a homer — and the Vikings got two hits each from Sophie Fike, Kennadi Wuebel and Taylor Warra (two RBIs). Mary Fletcher had a two-RBI single.
