Boys basketball
Thanks to an excellent defensive effort in the fourth quarter, Inglemoor High came back to defeat Lake Washington High, 47-44, on Friday in a 4A Kingco league matchup.
Senior guard Benji Bryant scored a season-high 22, while Adam McElwee added nine.
The win improved streaking Inglemoor’s league record to 5-2 and 8-3 overall.
Girls basketball
The visiting Inglemoor Lady Viks followed up their thrilling one-point win over Newport last Wednesday with a 47-40 league victory over the Lake Washington Kangaroos.
Senior point guard Alex Nelson put in a team-high 14, with post Lynsey Sandum adding 10.
The win improved the Vikings’ 4A Kingco league record to 4-3 and 8-3 overall.
Boys swimming
Inglemoor swam all over Issaquah during Thursday’s 4A Kingco league meet at Northshore Pool, winning 120-68.
For Inglemoor, the 200-yard medley relay squad of Craig Olynyk, Luke Swenson, Carl Olsson and Kyle Bogusz won in 1 minute, 45.08 seconds.
Strong individual performances also came from Kyle Komlod in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.56) and Olsson in the 50-yard freestyle (23.18).
Olynyk posted a lightning-fast state-qualifying time of 55.97 in the 100-yard backstroke event, as did Swenson in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:06.00.
