The Cedar Park Christian football team made it three blowouts in a row Friday, destroying Charles Wright 42-17, in Tacoma.
The Eagles took an early 12-0 lead on two very different runs. Connor Johnson scored on a 38 yard breakaway for the first points of the game but the extra point failed.
Then, Andrew Rickman pounded the ball into the end zone from two-yards out. Cedar Park attempted a two-point conversion but was unsuccessful.
The home team stormed back during the second quarter, scoring 17-unanswered points on two one-yard runs and a 34-yard field goal.
But Cedar Park would literally run away with the game during the second half.
Rickman scored his second touchdown of the game on a 43-yard touchdown run to give the Eagles the lead back. Then, teammate Ben Anderson scored on a 46-yard run. Rickman’s two-point conversion gave the Eagles a 26-17 lead.
The home team fell apart from there, giving up a safety on the ensuing possession. Cedar Park helped Charles Wright’s downfall with a 70-yard kickoff return by Johnson.
Rickman would cap an impressive game, going over the 100 yard mark on the ground with a 37-yard touchdown run to finish the scoring.
Cedar Park improves to 4-1 overall with the win after beating their previous two opponents by a combined score of 111-0.
The Eagles will host Bellevue Christian at 7 p.m. on Friday.
