Cougars pound out 11 hits in victory over Garfield | Prep roundup

The Bothell baseball team jumped out to an early lead and held off a solid Garfield team on Friday night in a 4A Kingco league game, 4-3. Behind the multi-hit games of starting pitcher Travis Dohr, Jake Storer, Brett Steiner and Sam Lee, the Cougars took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning.

The Bothell baseball team jumped out to an early lead and held off a solid Garfield team on Friday night in a 4A Kingco league game, 4-3.

Behind the multi-hit games of starting pitcher Travis Dohr, Jake Storer, Brett Steiner and Sam Lee, the Cougars took a 4-2 lead into the seventh inning.

Dohr gave up a single run and was able to hold on to secure the Bothell win. In his complete-game effort, Dohn struck out five while walking four.

With the win, the Cougars improved to 3-2 in league play and 4-5 overall.

 

 

Vikings edge Cougars in softball slugfest

Lyndsey Porter’s six-RBI night for Inglemoor led the way in a high-scoring all-Northshore fastpitch game Friday night at inglemoor, with the Vikings prevailing over Bothell 10-9.

After the Cougars scored three times in the fifth to take a 5-1 lead, the Vikings answered in the bottom of the inning, plating seven runs to take the lead for good.

Bothell threatened in the top of the seventh, pulling to within one but stranding the tying run.

Porter’s big night included a home run and a double, with Izzy Riddle and Holly Sandborg also clearing the fence for the Vikings.

For Bothell, Arista Honey went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, and Camille Weisenbach launched a home run.

Inglemoor’s Alyson Harrington pitched a complete game in the win, striking out two and walking three.

 

 

Cedar Park routs Bush

The Cedar Park Christian baseball team got a strong pitching performance from Josh Thompson in a 10-3 win over Bush Friday night.

Thompson struck out 12 in five innings of work, while David McLaurin went 3-for-4 with a triple and run batted in on offense.

With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-2 on the season.
