Outlook: What Smith has done with the Cedar Park Christian track program is nothing less than remarkable. In 1999, the track program had five athletes total. This year, that number is 65.

The highlight of the program was in 2006, when the girls won both the tri-district and the state championship behind five individual state championships, as well as a relay.

Last year, the boys finished second and the girls finished third in Emerald City 1A.

Top boys

• Sr. Scott MacDonald, throws: Class 1A state runner-up in shot put last year. Currently ranked second in shot put and fifth in discus.

• Sr. Zach Keene, sprints, jumps: Ranked first in state in 100 meters and fourth in 200.

• Sr. Ray Zoellick, pole vault: School record holder in pole vault. Placed third at state last year.

• Fr. Sam Stolmeier, distance: Already has tri-district wins in 800 and on 4 x 400 relay team.

Top girls

• Sr. Valan Calvo, pole vault: Won state championship in 2006 with a meet record at the time of 10 feet, 6 inches. Currently leads state.

• Sr. Caitlin Johannes, hurdles: School record holder in 300 hurdles. Currently second in league.

• Jr. Makenna Landes, 400 meters: Captain is praised for her relentless work ethic. Top three 400-meter runner in the league.

• So. Alyssa Lundberg, jumps: Already broke school record in triple jump.

• Fr. Samantha Lundberg, sprints: Combines with sister to be top sprinting tandem.
