Four Bothell High School football players named to All-USA team, Western Washington

The American Family Insurance All-USA Western Washington High School Football Team selections have been announced and four Bothell players were honored.

Ross Bowers was selected as the First Team quarterback. Bowers, who has committed to play at the University of California next season has thrown for over 2,000 yards and 24 touchdowns this year against just five interceptions.

Wide receiver Dayzell Wilson, who is widely known as the best receiver in the state, was also selected First Team, compiling 895 yards and 17 touchdowns this year.

Running back Sam McPherson was selected to the Second Team after rushing for 1,114 yards. McPherson led the league with 21 rushing touchdowns. McPherson’s season ended two weeks ago when he tore his ACL against Bethel High School.

Linebacker Shawn Munro was also selected to the Second Team. He has six sacks, 11 tackles for loss and 71 tackles during the regular season.

The Cougars will try to reach the semifinals of the State playoff on Saturday as they take on Bellarmine Prep at 1 p.m. at Mt. Tahoma High School in Tacoma.
