After a rough 0-4 start to their league season, the Inglemoor boys' team righted the ship by winning the Bellevue College (BC) Holiday Tournament last Friday night, defeating Monroe 68-60 in the finals.

The Vikings used a big first quarter to storm out to a 37-26 lead at halftime, which they extended to 18 points after the third.

Despite the Bearcats making a fourth-quarter run, the Vikings were able to keep them at bay and secure the tournament victory.

Inglemoor’s Chris Bryant scored a career-high 29 in the victory, with Brendan Lauck contributing a season-high 11 and Cooper Danby nine.

The Vikings improved their overall record to 4-6 with their trio of wins at BC.

 

Viking girls win Les Schwab Classic

The Inglemoor High girls’ basketball team (below) won the Les Schwab Christmas Classic tournament last Friday at Kennedy High School, defeating Kentwood for the second straight year in the championship game, 65-44.

The Vikings’ offense was hot early, scoring 39 first-half points, while a fine team defensive effort held the Conquerors to just 16 points in the second half.

Taylor Peacocke, who scored 23, was named the tournament MVP, and Chay Fuller, who scored 11, was named the Player of the Game. Kelly Conroy added 13 for the Vikings, who improved to 7-3 overall.

The girls continue their 4A Kingco season this Friday at 6:30 p.m. against Bothell.
