Inglemoor girls, Bothell boys’ cross country win | Prep Roundup

Running at Beaver Lake Park on Wednesday afternoon, the Inglemoor Viking cross country team defeated Eastlake 32-26 in a 4A Kingco matchup. Crossing the finish line first was Viking senior Michael Mendenhall in 16 minutes, 24 seconds, finishing comfortably ahead of Eastlake's Jordan Oldenburg (16:49).

Running at Beaver Lake Park on Wednesday afternoon, the Inglemoor Viking cross country team was narrowly defeated 26-32 in a 4A Kingco matchup.

Crossing the finish line first was Viking senior Michael Mendenhall in 16 minutes, 24 seconds, finishing comfortably ahead of Eastlake’s Jordan Oldenburg (16:49).

Also finishing high for Inglemoor was Dakota Rash in 16:58, good for third place.

On the girls’ side, the Vikings beat the Wolves 25-31.

Kyra Burke, a senior, won the race in 20 minutes flat, with sophomore Amber Rose coming in second (20:14).

The Bothell High School boys also performed well, finishing 1-2-3 in their 5,000 meter race Wednesday at Marymoor Park against Woodinville.

Charlie Barringer, a sophomore, won the race in 17:17, followed by teammates Theodore Pierce (17:18) and Dean Willis (17:19). Jacob Straus (5th, 17:23), Dan Terleton (6th, 17:30) and Wyland Tregear (7th, 17:31) also ran strong races for the Cougars.

For the Lady Cougars, junior Stephenie Spencer was tops on the team with a time of 20:29, good for third place.

 

Eagles lose second straight five-set volleyball match

After four hard-fought games, the Cedar Park Christian volleyball team was left heartbroken again as Life Christian defeated them 15-8 in a fifth-set tiebreaker to win 3-2 in a Nisqually 1A/2B league matchup.

The Eagles won games one and four 25-23 and 25-21, respectively, while losing 22-25 and 23-25 in games two and three.

For the Eagles, Mikayla Massad led with a game-high 18 kills, followed by Lani Hansen with 12.

Kat Estrada did it all, with 23 digs, 48 assists and four services aces.

With the loss, Cedar Park dropped to 1-2-0 (1-3-0 overall) on the season.
