Inglemoor girls defeat Bothell to take the 4A KingCo tournament title

For the third consecutive year the Inglemoor High School girls basketball team won the 4A KingCo District 2 tournament title, defeating Northshore rival Bothell, 54-48, at Redmond High School on Thursday.

For the third consecutive year the Inglemoor High School girls basketball team won the 4A KingCo District 2 tournament title, defeating Northshore rival Bothell, 54-48, at Redmond High School on Thursday.

The teams went toe-to-toe during the first quarter, as the Cougars managed to slow the high powered Vikings offense and hold Inglemoor to just nine points.

But Viking Alex Hagen took over during the second quarter, scoring nine of her game high 13 points and leading Ingelmoor to a 22-17 lead at the half.

That lead grew during the third quarter to 14 points. Inglemoor fought off a fourth quarter push by the Cougars to secure the victory.

Deja Strother scored 12 points during the game for the Vikings while Kennedy Nicholas finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

 

It is the 22nd time the Vikings have tasted victory this season against just one loss.

With the win, Inglemoor takes the No.1 seed to regionals. Bothell remains alive and will play Woodinville at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday in a loser-out game to qualify for regoinals.
