Inglemoor honors seven athletes headed to college on scholarship

Inglemoor High School (IHS) held a celebration for seven senior athletes who signed letters to play sports in college on June 3.

Inglemoor High School (IHS) held a celebration for seven senior athletes who signed letters to play sports in college on June 3.

The following students are committing to compete in collegiate athletics at either the Division I, Division II or Division III levels.

Darhian Mills will compete for the University of Washington on the track and field team. Mills won the 4A 300-meter hurdles this spring, breaking the state record. She owns four IHS records.

Caroline Hung will compete for the Williams University cross country team. Hung was a varsity member of the Inglemoor team for three years and is a valedictorian this spring.

Anna Richards will compete for Western Washington University on the track and field team. Richards placed fourth in the triple jump at state this spring and is ranked nationally in the event.  She was also a three year varsity member of the cross country team.

Amber Rose will compete for the University of Portland cross country and track teams. Rose placed second this past fall at the Washington State Cross Country Championships and holds the school record in the 5k.

Carson Dewitt will compete for Linfield College on the football and track teams. Dewitt was a district qualifier in the discus this spring and is graduating with a full International Baccalaureate diploma.

Katie Diekema will compete for the Calvin College cross country and track teams. Diekema was a district qualifier in the 1,600-meter run during spring and was a three year varsity member of the cross country team. She was key in the girls placing seventh at state last fall.

Dilshawn Gamage will compete for Rochester University on the track and field team. Gamage was a track and cross country captain and will be training for the 800-meters at Rochester.
