The Inglemoor High baseball team had a clear shot at the No. 1 team in KingCo 4A, but couldn’t muster the hits and lost, 2-0, to Mount Si on Wednesday in Snoqualamie.

The Vikings (3-11 overall, 1-10) sit two games behind Eastlake as the ninth-place team in the KingCo League standings, while Mt. Si (14-2, 10-2) sits atop the league, riding a six-game winning streak.

Inglemoor’s Jeremy Schoenfeld held Mount Si in check, striking only one batter, but allowing just seven hits with one walk in six innings.

Mount Si took a lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI single to right field with runners on first and second. The Vikings had a big chance to equalize, loading the bases in the top of the second with two outs, but Marshall Simmons was nabbed at second base on the next at-bat.

The Vikings put at least two runners on base in the third, fifth and sixth innings, but couldn’t capitalize.

Next, Inglemoor is scheduled to play Bothel at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 22 at Bothell High School.
