Inglemoor sophomore wins two titles at state swim championships

Inglemoor High sophomore Gabrielle Dang won a pair of individual state swimming titles on Nov. 12 at the King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way.

Dang won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.06 seconds, edging Wenatchee’s Isabelle Dressel by nearly a second. She then won the 100 freestyle in 50.83 seconds, pulling away from Skyline’s Christina Bradley.

Inglemoor’s 200 medley relay team of Danielle Doennebrink, Allie Macdonald, Liza Panova and Dang finished fifth.

The Viking 200 freestyle relay team, Lynn Chou, Dang, Doennebrink, and Panova, also finished fifth.

Panova finished 12th overall in the 100 backstroke.

Inglemoor finished eighth in the team standings with 102 points. Bothell finished 17th with 39 points, and Skyline won the team championship with 243 points.

Bothell freshman Jazlyn Pak had an excellent introduction to the state championships, finishing second in the 100 butterfly in 55.98 and ninth in the 50 freestyle.

Senior Amalie Ratliff made the finals in the 200 freestyle, and finished 16th overall.

Sophomore Saiyann Reyes finished eighth in the 1-meter dive with 292.95 points. Fellow sophomore Hannah Shull finished 16th with 263.35 points.
