Kenmore resident Etta Moen placed third in the 5km Junior US Snow Shoe Association National Championships in Powder Mountain Utah on Feb. 27.
Moen’s placing qualifies her to be a member of the US Junior National Snow Shoe team. She will compete as a national team member at the 2017 World Championships, which will be held on Feb. 5, 2017 in Saranac Lake, New York.
Moen is a Junior at Inglemoor High School and competes in cross country and track and field.
Event held at Bellevue Downtown Park can be catalyst for the world’s second most popular sport.
