Cougar Zach LaVine is ranked as the No. 1 player in the state and he showed why Friday night, scoring 35 points for Bothell in a lopsided 82-56 victory against Inglemoor.

Bothell jumped out to a big lead during the first half, posting a 20 point half-time lead. Inglemoor found its rhythm during the second half, scoring one point more during the third quarter (18) than the team scored during the entire first half (17).

But that momentum was blunted by a 26 point third-quarter outburst by the Cougars.

The Vikings scored two more points than Bothell during the fourth quarter but the effort was too little too late.

Junior Josh Martin gave Bothell an inside presence they did not have last season when the teams played close games. Martin finished the night with 16 points.

Inglemoor’s Chris Bryant did everything he could to keep the Vikings in the game, scoring 17, while teammate Trey Mille contributed 12 points.

The two teams continue to go in opposite directions this season, with Inglemoor dropping its fifth straight to open the season, and the Cougars beng the last undefeated team in 4A KingCo at 4-0.
