Lovitt is in synch with U.S. Team

Inglemoor High’s Liane Lovitt has earned a spot on the U.S. Junior National Synchronized Swim team. She qualified for the squad during tryouts over Memorial Day weekend in Portland, Ore.

A group of local athletes made a splash with the Seattle Synchronized Swim Team at the West Zone Region A’s Intermediate and Age Group Championships last month in Tualatin Hills, Ore.

Emily Drew of Bothell finished first for her solo, as well as first in age-group 13-15 duet along with partner Lorraine Hack of Olympia. They qualify for nationals to be held June 27-July 3 in Gainesville, Fla.

In the age-group 10-and-under division, Akira Baysinger of Bothell placed first in solo and first with her team of Maya Chungbin-Steeley and Riley Smith of Kenmore, Isabella Adad, Lilly Cao and Annette Vo.
