Bothell High graduate Blake Medhaug of Western Washington University notched all-American honors after his performance at the NCAA Division II cross-country national meet Nov. 22 in Slippery Rock, Penn.

He finished 36th in the nation, and the Western men placed 10th overall. It was Western’s best finish ever, following the runners’ 11th-place finish last year.

Medhaug said it was the “best race of his life.” It was below freezing temperatures with four inches of snow on the ground.
