Mixed doubles team led by Bothell residents wins USTA title

A mixed doubles tennis team from Mill Creek, led by three Bothell residents and one Kirkland resident, representing the USTA Pacific Northwest Section, captured the national title at the USTA League Mixed 40 and over 6.0 National Championships held at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.

A mixed doubles tennis team from Mill Creek, led by three Bothell residents and one Kirkland resident, representing the USTA Pacific Northwest Section, captured the national title at the USTA League Mixed 40 and over 6.0 National Championships held at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Ariz.
The Mill Creek team defeated a team from Gulfport, Miss., 3-0 in the Championship match.  Earlier in the day, the Mill Creek team defeated a team from New Providence, N.J., 2-1 in the semifinals. They advanced this far by winning their round-robin flight contested Friday and Saturday.
The team is captained by Cynthia Wyer of Bothell and coached by Ted Kim. The team features Kirkland resident and player Enrique Rodriguez, Bothell resident Heather Waters, Christopher Tang, Shannon Marie Corbett, Bothell resident Terry Ward, Patty Terhar, Rick Odom and plays at the Mill Creek Country Club.
