The Newport High School boys basketball team pulled off an upset, 69-61, beating the host team Cougars during the finals of the Bothell Holiday Classic at Bothell High School.

The Newport High School boys basketball team pulled off an upset, 69-61, beating the host team Cougars during the finals of the Bothell Holiday Classic at Bothell High School.

Bothell began the game with the hot shooting hands, outscoring the Knights 19-11 during the first quarter. But Newport stormed back to take a slight lead at halftime, 31-30.

But the second half belonged to Newport, pulling out to a 51-44 lead and never looking back.

Bothell received balanced scoring from Cameron Tyson (12 points), Andrew Wilson (10 points) and Hunter Dean (10 points).
