The North Bothell Little League 12U boys’ team continued its run through the state field, polishing off a 6-3 win over Eastlake on Wednesday in Vancouver to earn a berth into the championship game on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Fort Vancouver Little League complex.
In the title matchup, the Northshore boys will either have a rematch against Eastlake, or face the winner of Thursday’s game between Kent and local favorite Salmon Creek (Vancouver) in the consolation bracket semifinals.
A state title would move the Northshore team one step closer to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Va., something that the last three Washington state champions (Auburn in 2010, Mercer Island in 2009 and Mill Creek in 2008) accomplished.
In addition, the North Bothell/Northshore/Woodinville junior league softball team won the state title on July 21 and will begin the West Regionals in Arizona on August 4.
