Playing in a 4A Kingco Crown division battle on Friday night, Inglemoor was down early but slammed home four runs in the fourth inning en route to a 6-2 victory.
Facing a 2-1 deficit, the Vikings took advantage of multiple walks and plated four to take a 5-2 lead, adding one more in the seventh as Mitchell Gunsolus laced his fourth triple of the season to score Tyler Beahan.
Alex Morrow, Lucas Wimmer, Dustin Doucette and Willie Augustavo all contributed on the mound to the win, which elevated the Vikings to 8-6 in league play and 12-7 overall.
The lone game remaining on the Vikings’ schedule is tonight against Roosevelt at home, starting at 7 p.m.
Bothell holds on against Ballard, seals division title
The red-hot Cougars clinched the 4A Kingco Crown Division on Friday with a tight 4-3 road win over Ballard.
Bothell’s bats heated up in innings 3-5 as they scored four times, highlighted by a solo shot by Ryan Morgan, who had two of the Cougars’ six hits.
Sam Lee and Jordan Johnson also contributed RBI base knocks.
The Beavers came back with three in the sixth inning off reliever Eric Gregory, but he threw a scoreless seventh to notch the save.
Bothell starter Kevin McShane pitched a gem, scattering three hits over five innings or work, striking out four and walking just one.
The Cougars (12-2, 15-4) have locked up the No. 1 seed in the Crown Division with Friday’s win and have one regular-season game left on their schedule, against Garfield tonight at 6 p.m. at home.
Cougars fall to Redmond in slugfest
In a 4A Kingco crossover matchup with the Redmond Mustangs, the Bothell Cougars fell behind early and came up short 13-7 at home on Friday afternoon.
Redmond scored eight runs in the first two innings, with the Cougars responding with five of their own, but the Mustangs’ hot bats scored twice more in the fourth and sixth innings to put the game out of reach.
For Bothell, Arista Honey led the offense with a home run and three RBIs, followed by Sammy Morris with a triple and two runs scored.
With the loss, the Cougars fell to 4-5 in league play and 7-8 overall. They play again tonight against Newport at Newport High, first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
Skyline stifles Inglemoor at home
Inglemoor struggled with runners in scoring position on Friday night at home against Skyline in a 4A Kingco league game, with the Spartans winning 5-1.
Skyline broke a 1-1 game open in the fifth with four runs, as the Vikings notched seven hits in the game but were only able to bring home one run.
For Inglemoor, Shelby Johnson and Tayler Peacocke both went 2-for-3 with a double.
The Vikings fell into a tie for third place in the division at 4-5 (5-9) with the defeat.
