Senior starter Dustin Doucette struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings on Wednesday evening in a 3-0 4A Kingco Crown Division win over Roosevelt, a makeup game originally scheduled for last Friday.

Playing in rain with a 30-minute lightning delay, Roughriders’ ace David Holt pitched well, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out three, but it was junior Blake Wilson that did the damage with an RBI base hit, one of only three base knocks for the Vikings.

With the win, Inglemoor improved to 3-2 in league play and 6-3 overall.

Bothell wins pitcher’s duel against Garfield

With the Bulldogs playing in the first contest of a doubleheader on Tuesday night, Bothell starter Kevin McShane outdueled Garfield ace John Trupin in a 3-0 Cougar victory.

For Bothell, Eric Woods came up big with an RBI base knock in the fourth that drove in two.

McShane went six full innings and struck out eight while scattering three hits and walking two, while Trupin was tagged with the tough-luck loss as he struck out 10 in seven innings while allowing just two hits, none of Bothell’s runs earned.

With the win, the Cougars remained perfect at 5-0 in league play and 7-2 overall.
